How To Pack For The Beach
As I get ready for my yearly family vacay to the beach, I’m stunned to still not know what to pack. You would think this was my first time going to the beach when I’ve gone I can’t even count how many times.
I guess as I get older my priorities continue to change. And with those priorities, are what all I should pack to take to the beach.
Well, I figured that I could not be the only one out in the world who is having a struggle figuring out what all to pack for my trip to the beach, so I decided to create this list and share it with everyone else in need.
- Swimsuits – I mean this is a no-brainer. Since I love swimsuits like I live in California, I suggest packing a couple. This depends on how long your stay is. For a week-long trip to the beach, I would pack at least three. Here are some of my favorites from this season. here here
- Cover up – this must be one of those changes in my priorities. But now that I’m older, I definitely feel a cover-up is appropriate for your walk to the beach. This one is super cute and can easily be worn as a kimono with denim shorts and a cute tank top.
- Maxi dress – nothings screams a beach vacation more than a maxi dress. It seems like they were made for late night walks along the beach. This one is super cute and can be worn throughout the year by adding cute layers and accessories.
- Denim shorts – this staple piece is great for your daily sightseeing outings around town. And since it’s a staple piece, you are sure to get a good use of them. This pair can easily be dressed up or worn casual depending on the top.
- Flip flops – no better shoes to wear to or around the beach. Super easy to slide off when hitting the sand, shake all of the sand off when heading back to your hotel or car, and lightweight for those sunkissed toes. I absolutely love these TKEES, as they feel like you are wearing nothing on your feet.
- Hat – another one of those changes in priorities. This was definitely not something I would have packed before even though I always recommend it. This super cute sun hat would look great on or off the beach during the Summer months. Perfect for keeping that sun off your pretty face. #nowrinkles
- Lightweight sneakers – Canvas or cloth sneakers are extremely needed for your trip to the beach. With all of the humidity, it seems like everything is always damp. So these types of sneakers are great because they dry easily and are comfortable in the super hot heat.
- Flowy tops – nothing beats a nice cool breeze on a hot and sticky day at the beach. Wearing flowy tops are key to keep from having your sweaty tops sticking to you. Here are some of my top picks. here here here here
- Beach Bag – you will need something cute and stylish to carry your essentials in. This beach bag is just the one for you!
- Layering piece – a lightweight denim jacket or cardigan may be necessary for the cool nights and the AC blasting in all of the restaurants. Here are great options for a beach vacation that will work throughout the year. here here here here
- Cotton shorts – cotton shorts are great for wearing in the Summer heat and a beach vacay is no exception. These colors are perfect for a trip to the beach. here here here here
- Summer dresses and rompers – dresses are my go-to items because they are one and done. One piece outfits like dresses and rompers are super easy to pack and all you’ll need to add are cute shoes and accessories. here here here here
- Sunglasses – of course, we can’t forget about eye protection. These sunglasses are perfect for any beach getaway.
