My Updated Bedtime Routine

My Updated Bedtime Routine

Establishing a nighttime routine that will not only end a productive day but prepare you for a productive day ahead is super essential. Nothing beats waking up and already knowing how your day is going to flow. And I am super excited to finally have a night time routine that sets me up for success that I can stick to.

Dinner

I start my night off with dinner. I try to eat in 6 out of 7 days of the week, usually eating out on Friday or Saturday. Since I’m only cooking for one, I normally go for something that will last me at least 3 or 4 nights. This way I only have to cook about twice per week.

Clean My Dishes

Since I have finally gotten into the swing of cleaning my dishes right after I use them, washing dishes after dinner only takes a couple minutes.  Plus, since I’m just heating up most of the nights, I only have to clean the dishes I used to eat off of.

Read

I fell off from doing this the beginning of the Summer, but now that I have it fixed into my daily routine, I am able to read at least one chapter each night. I have a list of books I planned to read over my Summer break, so I guess I need to stay on track to meet my goal.

Workout/Yoga

Now that I have finally purchased a new DVD player, I have no excuses about working out. I alternate nights between doing my Total Body Ball workout and yoga. I get my yoga workout from off my Fire Stick.  And yes, I know I could have used workout videos on Prime, but I just love how my Total Body Ball workout routine works for me. I workout for about 40 minutes.

Prepare for Next Day

After I workout, I make myself a smoothie and check my planner for what I have planned the next day.  I will also, write out a to-do list to help me stay on task throughout the day ahead.

Hygiene

Now that I know what my day ahead will look like, it’s time to get ready for bed. I start by washing my face and getting into the shower.  Because of my most recent acne explosion, I went back to my tried and true Clean & Clear Foaming Face Wash. Although it’s targeted for teens, it works on my aged skin so well. It gets rid of my breakouts without drying out my skin. For my body, I am currently using the Skin Success Complexion Bar. It’s helping to fade away my tan from my trip to Disney and clear up my dark spots on my legs. I have what’s called strawberry legs, so I use the complexion bar to try and fade out all of my dark spots. Once I’m done using the complexion bar, I am going to try the African soap I received as a sponsored item from Better Shea Butter. I am using their whipped peppermint shea butter as my moisturizer and absolutely love it. For my face, I use a 1:1 combination of witch hazel and aloe vera gel that I mixed together in an old soap dispenser which makes it super easy to use. Around my eyes, I use 100% shea butter. I used to use the Vitamin E stick, but can’t seem to find it in stores anymore. I then put on some lip balm, wrap up my hair and head to bed.

Bedtime

Once I’m in bed and completely relaxed, I begin my nightly Bible reading. As part of my Summer Bible Reading Plan, I read Psalm 23, 63, and Matthew 6:9 each night. I also read the following scriptures from Psalm on their corresponding day of the week: Sunday – 113, Monday – 146, Tuesday – 147, Wednesday – 148, Thursday – 149, Friday – 150, Saturday – 113. I will use the Bible Verse app and read the verse that pops up before beginning my nightly prayer.

Sleep

It’s now time to go to sleep and relax my body for another productive day!
