finding your purpose

Finding Your Purpose

One of my biggest struggles in life was knowing what my unique purpose was.

For years  found myself asking, “God, is this really what you have planned for me?’ And those moments were always when I wondered was I being obedient to God’s will or was I trying to create and follow my own?

So, what does it take to determine God’s unique purpose for your life? Just keep reading to find out!

Talk With God Always

If you don’t ask, you won’t receive. If you don’t question, you won’t understand, If you don’t listen, you won’t comprehend. Well, the same goes for communicating with God. Having two-way communication with God is the first step in finding out your purpose.

This means praying and listening or a response. This also means reading the Bible. Doing both are essential in building a personal relationship with God and trusting in Him.

Talking with God isn’t just about you asking for your desires to be met. Talking with God is about praising God for all he has done and is about to do in your life. It’s about talking to Him as you would your best friend. This means listening to His response.

God speaks to us in so many different ways. He speaks to us through His word, which is why it’s important to read your Bible daily. He has everything you need to know about how to live your life according to His will in the Bible. God speaks to us through the Holy Spirit’s guidance and odors for us. God also speaks to us through visions and signs.

The key is to have a grounded relationship with Him so you know what is His will for You.

Discover Your True Self

Here is when you take a deeper look into yourself.

What are you good at?

What do you love? What are your spiritual gifts?

What are the desires of your heart?

What impact do you want to have on the world?

What legacy do you want to leave behind?

Create a list of these things. Whatever God’s purpose is for you, He’s known it before you were created and has been preparing you for it since your creation. Therefore, your answers to these questions are connected to your unique purpose.

Develop Yourself

Now is the time to put in work. Prepare yourself to be equipped and able to fulfill your purpose.

Get the required training. Take the necessary course(s). Meditate on God’s word. Get the experience you need. Whatever it takes, develop yourself to properly fulfill your purpose.
