My Goals for 2018
Hey guys! Sorry for the unexpected break. I have been under the weather and therefore, unmotivated to do much of anything but rest and get well.
With so much rest, I have had a lot of time to reflect on my life and my goals for Uniquely Created as a business. It’s been fun having my blog, but it is still a hobby. The only good advice or positive thing I will probably ever get from Kanye West, was him telling the story of how much his mother supported his dream to become a rapper, but reminded him it was a hobby until he earned money from it. And thus, we have my motivation to get back to my ultimate goal when I started this blog, of making it my career, not just a hobby.

To top off my sickness, I had some extra time off of work due to snow days. I totally get cabin fever every time I am “stuck” home because of the snow (or bad weather). With my great boredom, I was able to reflect on my life, and probably a little too much.
I mean, I realized just how much I really cannot stand my life! Please understand that I am truly grateful to be alive. I know that God has blessed me with an amazing life. But, I realized that I am not living my life to the fullest, the way I should, to honor God for His gift.
Life truly is a gift. And when you know that life is living you instead of you truly LIVING your life, a change must come. When this revelation came to me, all I could do was burst into tears. Not just tears, sobbing like a toddler, whimpering and all. I told God enough was enough. I am tired of this life and something has got to give. Boy, I am so thankful God created me. He is the only one who really understands me and knew that I was not blaming Him but myself.
God created us that we may have life, but ya’ll not just life. ABUNDANT LIFE.
Many of you know that I am a teacher. The most requiring yet underpaying job in America. So even with my two degrees, that I am still paying for and which cost at least 2.5 times my income, I can not afford to travel, shop guilt free (even for food), or go out to shows and events that are not free. To put it simply, I can’t live.
Now I know when God said that He has come to give us life, more abundantly, He was not talking about monetary wealth. It’s just in my case, I feel like my job is a soul-sucking, positive energy killing, dead-end job. I guess you can tell how I feel about my job. And when you are not happy with your job and are struggling financially because you’re only making two cents an hour (that’s what I joke and tell my students, cause that’s what it seems like) you stop and think of how much more you could live if you were fulfilling God’s purpose in your life.
In one of the prayers I say during my morning devotion, I ask God to help me understand my purpose in life for I know that prosperity will come, in part, by doing work I love. Well, this is what I love. And every time that I’ve said to God, since I had my break down the other day, what am I supposed to do cause teaching ain’t it? He has led me to someone or something guiding me to fulfill this dream I had 2 years ago of becoming a professional blogger.
So here I am, with my current goals.

- To rebuild my relationship with God, trusting in Him.

- To do everything I physically can to make Uniquely Created a career.

- To LIVE my life and love it. Even the negatives.

- To get back on track posting 3 times a week.
New Posting Schedule
So I think I am set on my new posting schedule. It is what I was doing when I was compelled to write this post. Like really, I thought I was going to just get on here and say, sorry I’ve been gone. Here are my goals to post more. Here is my schedule. Goodbye!
5000 words later, lol. I’m just happy the writing bug finally came back to me!
So my plan is to have my posts published on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Like I said, I was working on that when I started this, clears throat, quick update. So I haven’t quite figured out what my themes will be for each day. If you’ve been rolling with me from day one, you’ll remember I had Makeover Mondays, Working On Me Wednesdays, and Fix It Fridays. Well, let’s just start with the days and the themes will come soon.
