Prayers for Healing Damaged Relationships

It’s Fix-It-Friday. Today I will be sharing prayers to mend damaged relationships.

General Relationships

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for Your unfailing grace. Please help us to let go of those things we need to leave in the past, and to start moving forward in faith. May we always see Your hand at work in our future and trust You with every tomorrow. We don’t know what the future will bring, but we do know that You’ll be there beside us whatever may come. Please remove the burden of any pain that we carry. Replace it with hope. Give us the wisdom we need to see the light on our path, and grant us the courage to follow Your voice.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen. (Darlene Schacht)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We’ve been hurting too long. There’s too much silence, too much pain, too much distance, and too much blame. Please help us Lord. Please heal us. Let me let go, of trying to figure things out. Let me let go, of thinking who’s right or wrong. Instead let me feel, Christ embracing us. Let us be better with each other. Let us find a common ground, where love heals all wounds. Soften my heart, oh Father.  Let me follow the example of your Son. Who does not seek control, but instead loving sacrifice, and acceptance. This is the source of His glory. Born of mercy and trust, in God Almighty. Let me trust that you can heal, let me trust that You can change, bring us to you, brung us together again. I know that, by Your sweet mercy, all things are possible.

In Jesus name, Amen. (La-Tisha Hemingway & prayerforanxiety.com)

Dear Loving Lord,

I come to You, wounded and tired, from fighting too long. Give me rest, oh Lord. He/she hurts me Jesus. And I don’t know what to do, or how much more I can stand. Please help me, dear Lord. Pour out your blood, pour out your love, and free us from the enemy, that seeks to divide us. Only You can set us free. Change me first Father, fill my heart with love, so when he/she comes to me, to hurt or accuse, all he/she will find, is the love of Jesus in my heart. Rise up, oh Lord! Defend us from the evil one! Extend your mighty hand, and free us now. Heal the wounds between us. Show us how. I seek the sweet pasture, of your restoration. By your will and your way, all glory to you, in the name of Jesus, Amen. (prayerforanxiety.com)

Marriage

Dear Lord,

I pray for my husband/wife today. May you fill his/her heart with joy as you remind him/her of your love for him/her. Reveal to him/her his/her value and purpose. I pray that you would build up and transform him/her into the (wo)man you desire him/her to be. I pray against temptation that tries to lure his/her heart into sin. I claim freedom from bondage and freedom from darkness in Jesus name! Protect us against the enemy, send angels to defend us, send others to encourage us when we grow weary! I pray that (s)he matures in his/her role as a husband/wife. Equip him/her to lead us through your ways. Give him/her courage and sound wisdom. Help us both to understand how to love each other better. I pray that our marriages gets stronger with each passing day. May every area of our marriage reflect you God… how we give, how we love, what we do, what we say… everything!

May you be glorified through us in Jesus name AMEN! (Jennifer Smith)

Dear Heavenly Father,

As clay in the hands of a potter, we surrender our lives. Lord, we ask that you mold us and make us into the couple You designed us to be. Teach us how to build up our marriage, and keep us from tearing it down. Whether in word or in deed may we seek to honor each other and glorify You. Give us the strength to walk in sacrificial love, and a deep desire to press on in faith. Even on the days when it doesn’t feel good to do so, may we continue to walk in Your will.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen. (Darlene Schacht)

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today asking that You would teach us to walk in humility. Help us to see the importance of forgiveness and grace. May we learn to love as You love, and to give up our right to be right. Give us the courage to fight for our marriage and the valor to stand up for each other. Help us to lay down our pride, and to pick up the instruments of peace, kindness and grace. Thank You for being the loving compassionate God that You are.

In the name of Jesus we pray. Amen (Darlene Schacht)

P.S. You can’t have  a relationship without any fights, but you can make your relationship worth the fight.
