10 Easy Self Care Habits That Will Change Your Life

For this season my life focus is on living a joy-filled life. With that in mind, self-care is one of the most important steps to having a life of joy and happiness. So today, I’m sharing 10 easy mind and body self-care habits that will promote joy.

 

Self-care Habits For the Body
#1. Eat Healthily

As I always say, you are what you eat. The better you eat, the better chances you have of having a healthy body and life.

#2. Get Moving

Exercise, dance, go for a walk, do yoga, ride a bike. Whatever you choose, find something that will get you moving and make a habit of it. Having an active lifestyle is not just good for your body’s physical appearance, it also sends positive hormones through your body that makes you feel happier.

#3. Get Enough Sleep

There is a reason small children take naps, and since we tend to push naps aside as we get older, it is extremely important that you get enough rest. 7 – 8 hours is the recommended amount of sleep for adults, And although our bodies are not growing, we still need time to rest to rejuvenate. Think of your body as a cell phone, does it work of it hasn’t been charged and the battery is dead. Well, guess what, your body doesn’t work properly when it doesn’t get charged up either.

#4. Get Some Sun

Take time to spend some time outdoors. Even if it’s only fifteen minutes a day. And this does not count the time it took you to drive to work. The vitamins from the sun are helpful for your body. Plus sun exposure is known to brighten up your mood.

#5. Drink Water

Drinking plenty of water is a great way to stay healthy. Water is a natural detox. Not only does our body’s need it, it is great for headaches and stomach aches as well.

 

Self-Care Habits For the Mind
#1. Talk Positively

Speak positively to yourself. Eventually, you will truly believe it and start to live your life in a more positive way.

#2. Take a Break

Don’t get too caught up in life that you forget to take a break to actually enjoy life. Take vacations, go for a weekend getaway, and make sure you take breaks throughout your workday. Even God took a break after His creation.

#3. Hang Out With Positive People

Birds of a feather, flock together. Spending time with negative people only makes you a negative person. Spend time with positive people who will certainly bring joy into your life.

#4. Quiet Time

Take a few moments each day for peace and quiet. Try meditation to help clear your mind.

#5. Create Balance

Strive for balance in your life. Moderation is key.
