5 Bible Verses to Read When Making a Decision

As if making decisions were not hard enough, trying to make decisions that line up with God’s will is tremendously challenging.

As I live my life trying to fulfill God’s will for me, I am faced with this challenge moment by moment. My ultimate goal is to live my life according to God’s will so that I may please Him (and of course have eternal life). By pleasing God I know my life will be truly blessed, allowing me to bless others.

Here are five Bible verses to read when trying to make decisions.

Proverbs 19:20 – Seek Godly Advice

Listen to advice and accept discipline,

   and at the end you will be counted among the wise.

Luke 5:16 – Tune Out Distractions

But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.

James 1:22 – Act

Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Psalm 28:7 – Give Thanks

The Lord is my strength and my shield;

   my heart trusts in him, and he helps me.

My heart leaps for joy,

   and with my song I praise him.

James 4:1 – Limit Your Choices
