Dating As a Christian

Throughout my church experience as an adult, I rarely found a ministry that focused on being single and dating as a Christian.

Even with the large churches that I’ve attended, most social ministries were for married members, seniors, women, or men. If there was a “single’s ministry” it did not focus on offering advice on how to maneuver through life as a single Christian.

So, I decided to hit this topic myself. I know that there have been many struggles that I’ve faced trying to date as a Christian.

I’ve been asked so many questions about my own personal journey and why I’ve made the decisions I have. The main questions focusing on sex.

Unfortunately, sex has taken over our society. No matter where you turn and look, you see it. In the news, in our music, in advertisements, on the shows we watch (including children’s animation). Places you would not think to look have some kind of sexual innuendo.

So, when we think about dating, of course, that would be the most popular topic of discussion. After all, there’s no dating or rules of dating in the Bible. Even so, God still lets us know how we should live our lives. And even though dating specifically is not a biblical term, we as Christians must figure out how to do so in a way that is pleasing to God and according to His will for our lives. So, how should we go about dating?

Since I’ve been out of the dating game for a few years now, I wanted to include a fresher perspective on this topic. And to keep things fair, I decided that perspective should be a male perspective.

God led me to Pastor Joshua Jordan to team up with to discuss dating as a Christian, and I’m so blessed for this opportunity. It was great to hear things from a guys point of view. And even with the age difference, we agreed on just about everything. And why wouldn’t we, when we are being led by God!
