Keeping with Stress Awareness Month, today we are looking at how to overcome hard times with the following Bible verses. As always, I am going straight to God’s word for the answers to overcoming stress and adversity.

Overcoming Adversity

Philippians 4:6-7

Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I Peter 1:6-7

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations: That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ

Overcoming Stress

Matthew 11:28

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Philippians 4:11-13

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.  I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.  I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Psalm 9:9

The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.

Psalm 34:4

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Psalm 56:3

What time I am afraid, I will trust in thee.
