10 Great Reasons to Pray

As if you need a reason to pray, I am sharing 10 great reasons to pray today.

Prayer, for me, is something I do randomly throughout the day. I also have my time set aside in the mornings for my morning devotion. But, whenever I need to call on Jesus, I will regardless of where I am, even at work.

I think so many people feel as though prayer should always be this quiet sacred thing. I believe there are times and situations when it should. However, I also believe God just wants us to talk to him without it feeling… forced or unnatural as well. Therefore, since God is my Father, I speak to him as a daughter would speak to her earthly parent, or how a daughter should speak to her parent. All in all, it’s still prayer.

But in case you need 10 more reasons to talk with God, here they go!

  1. Because we are God’s children and He wants to hear from us.

Zephaniah 3:17 – The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.

  1. To have strength, comfort, and hope.

Psalm 119:28,50,114 – My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.

  1. To set things right when life is out of control.

Psalm 19:7-8 – The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statutes of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple. The precepts of the Lord are right, giving joy to the heart. The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.

  1. To be able to know God’s will clearly.

Proverb 3:6 – in all your ways submit to him,  and he will make your paths straight.

  1. To understand God’s love for you.

Psalm 52:8b – I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

  1. To deepen our faith in God.

Matthew 17:20 – And Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief: for truly I say to you, If you have faith as a grain of mustard seed, you shall say to this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible to you.

  1. To depend on God.

Isaiah 40:26 – Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength,  not one of them is missing.

  1. To grow in God.

2 Peter 2:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever! Amen.

  1. To understand God’s power.

John 1:3 – All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made.

  1.  To move the heart of God.

1 John 1:3 – We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.
