My Top Three Priorities For 2019
At times we get so carried away with setting new goals, we somehow forget that we are not superheroes. One of the keys to accomplishing your goals is to be realistic about what you are capable of doing.
Hear me out! I’m all about pushing yourselves to be better and do better. A goal is not a goal if it doesn’t push you. However, we’re not being realistic when we set too many goals at a time.
Think about what you want your purpose to be for the year, or the extinct of your goal. Who do you want to be? What are you trying to pursue? Where do you want to go?
Asking yourself these types of questions will get you to figure out what your priorities are. When you figure this out, you are on your way to set your top priority goals, let’s call them your big goals. Check out my post on How To Set Goals For the New Year to get indepth instructions on how to set a few big goals to be more successful.
Before I get into sharing my goals for 2019, I wanted to go over my 3 priorities and how I came up with them.
It’s really been a struggle for me to decide what goals I wanted to set. Not because I had too many, but because most of my goals are dependent on things that I don’t have direct control over or they are dependent on each other. So, to make things clearer for me, I wanted to see which 3 held the most importance to me.
If you’ve been with me since the beginning then you know I have been on the journey of turning my blog (influencer business) into a full-time job and trying to become a single mom by choice. Both have been goals of mine for the past couple of years, so of course, both are still at the top of my priorities, but are they in my top 3? The one thing that may be or may not be, getting in the way of both is stress. Well, having stress is definitely not a goal of mine, lol, but becoming more relaxed is.
This is about the time that I go back and look at my previous goals. Some people believe you shouldn’t look back. Well, I think you should always take at least one look back to see where you’ve come from and to know where you are going. And that’s exactly why it’s beneficial to look at your past year’s goals. Here are my goals from last year.
Here’s why looking back is beneficial. I can celebrate the accomplishments I’ve made like rebuilding my relationship with God. And although that goal is super important, it is not as big of a priority for me now as it was last year, since I accomplished it. So, I will continue to keep up with what I’ve been doing to maintain it’s continual growth.
Next, I want to revisit the goals I did not accomplish and figure out why. Which leaves me with turning my influencer business into a career and to LIVE my life and love it.
We already know that the first is high on my priorities list for this year. So I will need to see what I did that worked and what didn’t work to determine how to accomplish it this year.
As far as the latter one, I think I want to use that as my slogan. By working towards and accomplishing my goals, I will LIVE my life and love it.
Looking at both this year’s goals and last year’s, I am even closer to setting my top 3 priorities to focus on.
My Top Three Priorities of 2019
- One of my goals that is present and of high importance in both 2018 and 2019 is turning my influencer business into a career, so I definitely want to make that one of my three priorities for this year, and it clearly falls under my professional priority.
- Although becoming a mom is super important to me, I’m still not too sure if I want that to be a major focus of 2019. My desires have changed. So for my personal priority, I want it to be building better relationships. I figure motherhood is a relationship between a mom and a child, so that could still be a minor goal under this priority. Plus, who knows, I could end up falling madly in love with a charming man before the year is out, and be married and pregnant…
- And the last of my priorities for this year and life has to do with my overall health, and that is to be relaxed. With relaxation, I can eliminate some of my health problems, build better relationships, and become successful in my business.
