Coping skills are methods a person uses to deal with stressful situations. For coping skills to work, they need to become a habit; taking practice, and becoming easier with time.

Here are some great coping skills that are highly recommended to keep you calm in stressful times.
- Counting
- Yoga or stretching
- Figure 8 breathing
- Take a mindful walk
- “Take 5” breathing
- Positive self talk
- Muscle relaxation: make a fist, hold for 10, then release
- Take a break
- Close your eyes and imagine an empty room
- Count backward by 3 from 300
- Listen to music
- Dance or sing
- Relaxation coloring
- Exercise
