The Ultimate V-Day Decor Round Up

I have never been one to really decorate for any holiday other than Christmas. Now that I am a homeowner and getting up there in age, I have really been excited about decorating for the other holidays as well.

As a thrifty shopper, I’ve learned the trick of buying your holiday decor after the holiday once it’s 75% off. So this year’s decor will have to be more on the DIY side. And for Valentine’s Day, I think most DIY pieces are better than the cheesy ones you find in the stores anyway. I’m more on the rustic side when it comes to Valentine’s decor, so DIY is my best bet.

Here are some of my favorite Valentine’s Day decor I’ve spotted in my search for inspiration.

  1.  DIY Heart Tree from Money Hip Mamas

This one is so simple. Go outside and grab some twigs, get some foam hearts from the dollar store, and take out your hot glue gun. Find a cute vase (or something to sit it in) and you’re all set.

  1. Tissue Paper Roses In Basket from The Idea Room

I just thought this was so cute. It ties your Christmas decor in with Valentine’s decor, adding the perfect amount of cute and cozy. Especially if you’re like me and just now putting your Christmas decor away.

  1. Valentines Day Photo Banner from Life is Sweet

Another simple craft that won’t break the bank. Grab these supplies from the dollar store and around your house. Find some love-filled photos of you and your family and get creating.

  1. V-Day Wreath from Making Home Base

I have a confession, I bought a twig wreath over a year ago to decorate for my door. It is still in my coat closet, undone. This V-day one looks super cute and super simple for me to finally do something with my wreath.

  1. Puzzle Hearts from Freshly Found

Aren’t these the cutest. I have never seen any art made from puzzles in this way before.  Plus, you can find puzzles from the dollar store to use as well if you don’t have one at home with missing pieces.

  1. Two Little Lovers Sitting in a Tree Decor from The Dating Divas

Even though I don’t have a lover, I thought this was too cute. And for my other single ladies out there, you can still make this and leave the names off of the hearts.  It is just for decor after all, right? This DIY decor could cost you absolutely nothing. You can even use a page from an old book to cut out your tree.

  1. 3D Love Art from Brassy Apple

Here’s another framed piece that is another cutie! All you need is scrapbook paper and an old frame (or a new one from the dollar store) and some hot glue. So quick and easy to make.

  1. Front Door Love

I’m not sure who to give credit to for this front door decor I found on Pinterest, but it sure is so cute. Use some strips of wood and paint, and you’ll be set.

  1. Yarn Love Bottles

Here’s another one that I found on Pinterest.  It does look a little time consuming, but would look so cute on the mantle or in the kitchen.

  1. Ornament Valentine’s Wreath from Bracelet Bash

Let’s really put those Christmas ornaments to use this year with this pretty heart-shaped wreath. All you’ll need are ornaments (of course), heart-shaped plant wire, small ornament hooks, hot glue, and ribbon. This is a great focal point in any room.

  1. Chalkboard Art from Camelot Art Creations

How easy is this? Using your chalkboard or chalk-wall, design your Valentine sign and add some V-day garland.

  1. DIY Love Letters

I simply love this love sign! Get some wooden letters from your craft store to spell out love or xo, pick out some cute scrapbook paper, and grab some modge podge and string. Voila, you’re done!

  1. Heart Pillow from Your Homebased Mom

This pillow would look so cute on the sofa for Valentine’s. This is something you can completely make from scratch or just add the ribbon to a premade pillow. Either way seems really easy to make.

  1. Valentine’s Tree  from Adventures in Decorating

What a great excuse to not take down your Christmas tree, ever. Decorate it for all of the holidays like this Valentine’s Day tree. I don’t really have space in my house to keep a tree up all year, but I still love this idea!
