Mother’s Day DIY

Mother’ Day is just a few days away, and for the first time in 8 years I knew just what to get/make for my mom. With my mom being hundreds of miles away, I don’t get to see her and treat her for mother’s day as I would like. So this year I decided to make her something not just for mother’s day, but just because she’s my mom.

A few years ago I came across this website where you can create your own memory photo book, called Mixbook.com. So while I was thinking of all of the things I wanted to DIY for my mom, that she would never use, I thought why not create an inspirational book for her instead. My mom loves to read and she loves her kids, so I knew it would be the perfect gift for her that she could look at whenever she’d like. I gathered inspirational quotes and pictures of my family I knew my mom would love and started to create her photo book.

Helpful hints

  • Have all of your pictures downloaded on your PC, preferably in one folder, to make uploading pictures easy.
  • Have an idea of what you want your photo book to look like, what story are you trying to tell? What’s your theme?
  • Keep the person you are making your photo book for in mind. What does that person like/dislike?
