I Have Hope
For today’s Working on Me Wednesday we’re looking at God’s promise #4 out of 7, I have hope. I believe hope and faith go hand in hand. It’s hard to hope for something when you don’t have faith that it will happen. You won’t have faith in something if you don’t have hope for it, to begin with. Let’s see what God tells us about being hopeful.
Psalm 23:5
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou hast anointed my head with oil; My cup runneth over. (ASV)
Psalm 71:5
For thou art my hope, O Lord Jehovah: Thou art my trust from my youth (ASV)
Proverbs 23:18
For surely there is a reward, and thine expectation shall not be cut off. (KJ21)
Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good to those who wait for him, to the soul who seeks him. (ESV)
Romans 5:1-5
Peace with God Through Faith
5 Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Through him we have also obtained access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and we rejoice in hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us. (ESV)

Since we have such a hope, we are very bold (CEB)

Let’s hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, because the one who made the promises is reliable. (CEB)

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it to my
4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She placed the shell to
her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her
