My Top Ten Bible Verses for Encouragement
Do you ever feel like everytime you’re on a “winning streak” something discouraging happens to knock you down?
Oh boy, do I ever! As I continue to do work on my house, it seems as though every time I try to make improvements, sometimes ends up damaged or unrepairable. When it happened to me today as I was painting, I had enough determination to keep going. Well, more often than not, I don’t have that determination. Actually, I often just want to quit.
This thought of discouragement through my determination today, led me to write this post to come up with ways to be encouraged. And as always, I’m turning to my good ol’ trusty Bible for to see how God wants us to be encouraged.
Here are my top 10 Bible verses for encouragement.
10-For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7
9-In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world. John 16:33b
8-For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. Isaiah 41:13
7-For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Jeremiah 29:11
6-You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 1 John 4:4
5-For no word from God will ever fail Luke 1:37
4-Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
3-I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. Psalm 121:1-2
2-In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul. Psalm 94:19
1-Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall [a]direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6
